Spell Carr

Spell works as a Paraplanner for OmniStar Financial Group ensuring financial plans develop realistic expectations for achieving financial goals. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2020 with honors and earned his BA in Business and Economics. After graduating, Spell worked in the commercial insurance industry for a year before joining OmniStar Financial Group.

Spell is originally from Clinton, NC and now lives in Wilmington. Growing up, Spell spent a lot of time at Topsail Beach where he learned how to surf. He also enjoys golf, soccer, and flyfishing. While at Hampden-Sydney, Spell was a Captain and 2x MVP of the soccer team, earned Scholar All-American honors, and was the Player of the Year for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference his senior year. Spell attributes much of his success on the athletic field to the work ethic he developed while obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout earlier in his childhood.

Spell wanted to be a part of the financial industry from a young age. In the 4th grade, he had a teacher who helped students put together their own portfolio of stocks. His interest hasn’t faltered since. One of his grandfathers was a stockbroker for more than 40 years in Virginia Beach, VA which certainly helped peak Spell’s interest.
